October 20th

On October 20th we will be heading to Ferdinand's on the WSU campus. Meet us there at 10:00 for ice cream, cheese and to view the workers making cheese. Bring money if you want to sample the goods!

October 6th

Our next field trip will be October 6th at 10 am. Yes, we are changing to TUESDAYS to include families who have Kindergarten kiddos. For this trip we will be touring Conner Museum on the WSU campus at 10:00 am. The museum is in three rooms of the first floor of Abelson Hall. There are animals on display in glass cases. For more info visit http://sbs.wsu.edu/connermuseum/ You will need change for parking in the meters and strollers for little ones walking around the campus. Older kids can do an animal scavenger hunt at the museum. Let me know if you need to know where meter parking is available.

September 21

Our field trip will be 10 am at Klemgard Park. There is a playground, picnic shelter and trails for hiking if we feel adventurous. It is between Colfax and Pullman.
Directions:
Heading south out of Colfax, WA on Highway 195 travel 7 miles and turn right on Hamilton Hill Rd. Go roughly 2 miles and turn right on Upper Union Flat Creek Rd. Go another mile and the park is located on the left.

September 8th

Our first field trip of the school year will be to Palouse Discovery Science Center in Pullman. This trip will be Tuesday, the 8th of September, from 10-11 AM. Feel free to pack a sack lunch and stay longer. All families are responsible for their own admission. Hope to see you there! Meet us on the kids carpet at 10.

The PDSC is open Tuesday-Saturday, 10 am to 3 pm.

Admission:

$6 for Adults (12 to 54)
$5 for Seniors (55 and over)
$4 for Children (2 to 12)
Children under 2 are free
Seniors are free on Friday

July 20th

On July 6th at 10 am we have a field trip planned with Interstate Aviation. 2601 Airport Rd. It is just east of the Moscow Pullman Airport. The kids will get to watch planes take off, sit in the trainer planes and walk around the hangar. Please meet at 9:45 so we are ready for the tour at 10. Strollers or baby carriers will probably be easiest for little ones under two. Let us know if you need a ride or can car pool. Hope to see you there!

June 29th






On Monday June 29th we will be going to the Appaloosa Horse Museum. Meet us at 10 AM.

On Monday, June 15th, we will be visiting the Colfax Police and Fire Stations. Drive or walk on down to meet up at 9:50 and the officers will be ready to answer questions and show off their rigs at 10 am.

June 8th


Meet us at Colfax's Schmuck Park at 10 AM. It is the one hear the schools, pool and skate park.

Thank you to Leona, Chelsea, Oriana and all the kids for coming to Ferdinand's with us! We got to watch the workers making cheese, sample Viking cheese and eat giant ice cream cones. We also watched the movies about making ice cream and cheese. What a fun way to start the week!

June 1


Our next field trip is scheduled for June 1st, 10:00 at the WSU Creamery, Ferdinand's. The viewing room is reserved for our group. We can watch workers make cheese, watch the videos on how cheese and ice cream is made, sample fresh and aged Cougar Gold Cheese and of course eat ice cream cones. Ice cream orders are due by May 28th. Please email, leave a comment or sign up at story time to let me know what flavor cone you and/or your kids would like. Each cone costs $1.00 ($.49 discount for pre-order!) and cash will be gathered at the creamery. Please RSVP for this trip! The viewing room is enclosed upstairs, strollers are not needed.

Directions: Head towards Pullman/Moscow. Turn left on to Stadium Way, just after Shell gas station. Turn right on South Fairway Lane, just after the WSU football stadium. The creamery is on the right side of the street.

May 18th Recap





Thank you to Leona, Ginny and Oriana for meeting us at the park! The weather was great and we practically had the park to ourselves. The kids broke up bread to feed the fish, stopped to watch the turtle perched on a rock and fed the six ducks in the smaller duck pond. Sorry I forgot my camera!

Our first field trip will be Monday, May 18th at 10:00 AM. We will meet at Pullman's Sunnyside Park playground and walk over to feed the ducks together. Bring your kids, friends and bread to feed the ducks!
